Do you know your market?
Do you know your competition?
Do you have the resources?
Do you have the right message?
Background
Many organisations use different templates for their strategic and tactical planning, quite often individuals and departments have their own version. There is a need for “a common language” in order to facilitate communication between different parts of the company.
A common template is not enough for an effective planning process. The thoughts and discussions that go into the plan determine the success of the plan and indeed the business. The facilitator can help this process by challenging conventional wisdom and “strong” characters, but also ensure that there is a link between the plan and the market challenges.
Purpose
• to provide a framework and structure for the business planning process in the organisation
• to communicate an agreed clear focus and direction for the business
• to involve and gain commitment of all stakeholders
Objective
A strategic and tactical plan is developed, which participants are committed to implement and use in their daily business.
Process
A process following a 9 Step Thought Process and Structure
Preparation work, by reading current plans and discussing with the relevant people to understand the organisation’s needs. Agree objectives, agendas and time schedule for workshop/s. Debriefings and follow up to the workshop
